Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
For the filling:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
For the icing:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until the yeast is foamy.
- Add sugar, melted butter, eggs, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Make the Filling:
- In a small bowl, mix together softened butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon until well combined. Set aside.
- Assemble the Rolls:
- Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a 16x21-inch rectangle.
- Spread the cinnamon sugar filling evenly over the dough, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges.
- Starting from the long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
- Cut the dough into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Cover the rolls with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake the Rolls:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Once the rolls have risen, bake them in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Prepare the Icing:
- While the rolls are baking, prepare the icing. In a medium mixing bowl, beat together softened butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth and creamy.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Once the cinnamon rolls are done baking, let them cool slightly before drizzling with the cream cheese icing.
- Serve warm and enjoy the gooey, indulgent goodness of CG Hunter's Morning Cinnamon Rolls.
