There's something truly magical about waking up to the aroma of freshly baked cinnamon rolls wafting through the air. It's a scent that promises warmth, comfort, and the simple joys of life. Today, I'm excited to share with you a recipe that has become a staple in many households - CG Hunter's Morning Cinnamon Rolls. 

Ingredients: 

For the dough: 

  • 1 cup warm milk 
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast 
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar 
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted 
  • 2 large eggs 
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour 
  • 1 teaspoon salt 

For the filling: 

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened 
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed 
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon 

For the icing: 

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened 
  • 2 ounces cream cheese, softened 
  • 1 cup powdered sugar 
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 
  • Pinch of salt 

Instructions: 

  • Prepare the Dough: 
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until the yeast is foamy. 
  • Add sugar, melted butter, eggs, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms. 
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. 
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size. 
  • Make the Filling: 
  • In a small bowl, mix together softened butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon until well combined. Set aside. 
  • Assemble the Rolls: 
  • Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a 16x21-inch rectangle. 
  • Spread the cinnamon sugar filling evenly over the dough, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges. 
  • Starting from the long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log. 
  • Cut the dough into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. 
  • Cover the rolls with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30 minutes. 
  • Bake the Rolls: 
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). 
  • Once the rolls have risen, bake them in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. 
  • Prepare the Icing: 
  • While the rolls are baking, prepare the icing. In a medium mixing bowl, beat together softened butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth and creamy. 
  • Serve and Enjoy: 
  • Once the cinnamon rolls are done baking, let them cool slightly before drizzling with the cream cheese icing.
