FAUX TREE POT & PLANTER STYLE GUIDE
Choosing the Right Planter for Your Faux Tree and Space
The right faux tree brings height, texture, and natural softness into a space. The pot or base it arrives in is just as important, helping determine how finished, elevated, and proportional the tree feels once styled. At CG Hunter, some trees arrive in a decorative pot, while others arrive in a standard nursery or grower pot designed to be styled inside a larger planter.
Understanding the difference will help you choose the right tree and create a more polished, designer-inspired look.

How to Know What Pot Is Included
To see what pot or base is included with your faux tree, review the product title and product images. If the title includes “Potted,” the tree arrives in the decorative pot shown and listed on the product page. If the title does not include “Potted,” the tree will typically arrive in a standard black nursery/grower pot.
A nursery/grower pot is functional, not decorative, and is designed to be placed inside a larger planter, basket, or vessel for a more finished look. Our standard nursery/grower pots measure approximately 8.25" x 9.50". Product images with dimensions will also show which pot or base is included, so we recommend reviewing those details before purchasing.
Decorative Planter Styling
For the most polished result, place the existing nursery pot directly inside a larger decorative planter or basket. Choose a planter that feels proportional to the height and fullness of the tree, with enough width for the grower pot to sit comfortably inside.
If the planter is deeper than the nursery pot, add sturdy filler to the bottom first. Packing paper, cardboard, foam, or another stable material can help raise the tree to the right height. Once the tree is positioned, finish the top with moss, stones, or filler to conceal the base and create a more intentional, designer-styled appearance.
What Is a Nursery or Grower Pot?
A nursery pot, also called a grower pot, is the inner foundation of the tree. It provides structure and stability while giving you the flexibility to choose a decorative planter that best suits your home.
This option is especially helpful if you want the tree to feel customized to your space. A woven basket can create a relaxed, organic look, while a ceramic, stone-look, or textured planter can feel more refined and architectural. The planter you choose can also help balance the scale of the tree in a living room, entryway, office, dining room, or covered outdoor space.
Each tree includes a hard faux dirt base for a more natural appearance and added stability. This base is fixed in place and is not designed to be removed. To elevate the finished look, add decorative moss, stones, or filler on top to soften the transition between the tree and planter.
Final Styling Notes
The product image with dimensions will show which pot or base is included with each tree. For tree bundles, the included base will follow the product listing. If the trees do not say “Potted” in the title, they will typically come in the standard black nursery/grower pot.
Decorative planters shown in styled photography are sold separately unless specifically stated otherwise.
