Tip - The pump requires a small amount of conductivity to operate properly, which is naturally provided by the minerals in tap water. For this reason, we recommend using tap water to ensure smooth and consistent performance. If using distilled or purified water, please add about 2–2.5 tablespoons of dissolved salt to the 3.5 gallons of water to reach the fill line, mix thoroughly, and reconnect the pump. This provides the conductivity needed for the pump sensor to activate and run as intended.
